Hanadi Al Taher serves as a consultant translator under the Title VI-funded ACOR Digital Archive: A Multimedia Teaching and Learning Resource project, for which she leverages her wealth of expertise in the realms of archaeology and heritage management.

She first joined ACOR through the USAID-funded Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project (SCHEP) the project’s institutional development lead in February 2019. In that capacity, Hanadi played a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of SCHEP’s partners and other Jordanian heritage institutions through professional development programs and policies. She successfully managed the formulation of the new Jordan heritage strategy, “Management of Jordan’s Archaeological Heritage strategy 2023–2027,” along with its associated implementation plan. In 2021, she assumed the role of SCHEP’s deputy chief of party, concurrently maintaining her position as institutional development lead.

These appointments followed a distinguished twenty-three-year tenure with the Department of Antiquities (DoA) of Jordan. During her extensive career with the department, Hanadi held pivotal roles such as the director of studies and publications, director of the Archaeological Site Management Directorate, and assistant director of excavation and restoration for the Umayyad Medina Project at the Amman Citadel.

Over a span of sixteen years, Hanadi dedicated herself to reviewing and editing DoA publications and interpretative materials related to archaeological sites and Jordan’s cultural heritage. Her contributions extended to more than twenty years of robust experience in the fields of archaeology and heritage management and development.
