Local delivery offices of international couriers deliver to ACOR, but must have the ACOR phone number on the label. Street addresses are not widely used in Amman although they are becoming more common.
Residents and excavators/students can have mail delivered to ACOR at the above address, but must have their name in the top line and c/o ACOR. If there is a major project that they are working on, include that project name/excavation name on the face of the envelope.
Air Mail to/from Jordan and the U.S. takes from 5 days to two weeks and in some cases two months (rare). Overnight packages, via courier services take from 3-7 days.
The Central Post Office is located in downtown Amman with branches throughout the country.
The Philatelic Offices are at 8th Circle, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Building, 2nd Floor. They welcome small purchases of commemorative stamps and visitors (and speak excellent English). There is a philatelic museum on site.
